5 days Class IV June Water Level -Selway gauge at
Lowell The Selway River
is located in the Bitterroot and Nez Perce National Forests, close to the
Montana border. It flows through the 1.2 million acre Selway-Bitterroot
Wilderness Area, and is designated a "Wild River" in both the Wilderness
Preservation and Wild & Scenic Rivers systems. The natural beauty of this
canyon combined with the challenge of the rapids and the outstanding
opportunity for solitude make the Selway one of the highest quality whitewater
boating rivers in the nation. Three Rivers Rafting is proud to offer the magic
of the Selway to the outfitted public. The upper part of the Selway
from its confluence with White Cap Creek to just above Selway Falls is a
technical, class IV run that twists and turns for 47 miles. It flows north
until Moose Creek nearly doubles the volume of the river and turns its
direction west. In the spring, flows on the Selway increase to create famous
rapids like Goat Creek, Ham, Double Drop, Ladle, and Wolf Creek. Anglers can
fish for native Westslope Cutthroat Trout from the rivers crystal clear
waters. Abundant wildlife exists in this 2,000 square mile roadless area.
Encounters with other people are rare because only one group per day is allowed
to launch on the river. We can outfit you with any camping gear and river wear
you need, and, of course, we supply all the delicious meals. An upper
Selway river trip is a true expedition. Many natural treasures and memories can
be discovered in this pristine wilderness. We have a limited number of guests
that we can accommodate, so please book early. Our trips begin and end in
Missoula, Montana.
